2026 Bicol Scholarship Launch Announcement
Archipelago Education Consultancy officially launched three scholarships for students from Naga City and the surroudning Bicol region during the Bicol Association of Language and Literature Teachers (BALLT) LLICON 2025 conference in Naga City. The announcement was made during a panel discussion featuring former Vice President and Naga City Mayor Hon. Leni Robredo, BALLT President Dr. Jenifer R. Sevilla, and Archipelago Education Consultancy founder Ma’am Teri Salvador.
These scholarships, announced in partnership with Lakeland University Japan, celebrate the role of education in national development and the importance of providing meaningful opportunities for young Filipinos to study internationally while staying rooted in their identity and values.
2026 Archipelago Education Consultancy – Lakeland University Japan Scholarships
Archipelago Education Consultancy, in partnership with Lakeland University Japan (LUJ), is offering exclusive tuition scholarships for outstanding students from Naga City and the Bicol Region.
These scholarships provides life changing opportunities for students from Bicol to study at a U.S.-accredited institution located in the heart of Tokyo, earning the same American degree as students at Lakeland University in the USA and receiving up to $50,000 worth of tuition fee reduction.
If you’re from, or living in, Bicol and have ever wanted to visit Japan, study at an American university or achieve global ambitions, this is the chance for you to receive a world-class university education and reach your potential on the international stage.

Available Scholarships
One (1) Full Tuition Scholarship – covers 100% of tuition fees
Two (2) Partial Tuition Scholarships – each covers 50% of tuition fees
In addition, the recipient of the full scholarship will receive a handcrafted wristwatch from Ibarra Watches, a symbol of Filipino excellence and craftsmanship.
Please note that these scholarships cover tuition fees but do not include technical fees such as the Admission fee, Facility fees, Student Government fees or General Activities fees. The recipients of the scholarships will be chosen solely by appointed members of Lakeland University Japan.
Archipelago Education Consultancy will play no role in the selection of scholarship recipients.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Must be a resident of the Bicol Region or currently living in the Bicol Region.
Must have completed senior high school or be graduating senior high school by April 2026.
Must have a strong academic record.
Must demonstrate leadership potential or active participation in school or community initiatives.
Must be proficient in English (all instruction at Lakeland University Japan is in English). English proficiency will be demonstrated by a personal statement and video essay submission. See below for more details on the submission requirements.
Must be willing and able to pursue full-time undergraduate study in Tokyo.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following:
Completed application form
Official high school transcript
Certificate of graduation or proof of senior high school enrollment
Personal statement detailing your previous academic achievement, future academic and professional ambition and why you would be most suited to receive a scholarship. (500–600 words. Any use of AI tools will disqualify the candidate.)
Video essay (1–2 minutes) demonstrating your daily life, your study habits and showing your personality. Show us what makes you special.
At least one letter of recommendation
Proof of residency (e.g., barangay clearance, utility bill)
Optional: additional supporting documents (awards, certificates, etc.)

Interviews for Shortlisted Applicants: December 1st 2025
Results Announced: December 20th 2025
Academic Year Begins: May 1 2026 or September 1, 2026
